Abdelmajid Charfi
Back to DelegatesAbdelmajid Charfi is a Tunisian scholar specializing in Islamic civilization and thought. He obtained a PhD in letters from the University of Tunis in 1982. Professor of civilization and Islamic thought, he was dean of the faculty of human and social sciences of Tunis between 1983 and 1986. He also held the position of mission at the Ministry of Higher Education between 1988 and 1989. Invited professor, he intervenes as a lecturer in many European universities such as Paris-IV, Lyon-II, Rome (La Sapienza and Pontifical Institute of Arab and Islamology), Berlin, Leiden and Geneva. Professor emeritus at the University of Tunis, he intends to analyze the Koranic text from the inside with the eyes and the intellectual tools of a man of the 21st century.
